26th April 2009
The Art Glass Fair
Dulwich College, South London

Couldn't miss it! And I suggest you don't either. With an extra special showing of contemporary glass, this friendly and welcoming event in the suitably mid-century modern Dulwich College hall is always extremely worthwhile and enjoyable. I'll be there selling both my books and a selection of titles from the latest
Miller's list. Do come over and say hello to me, although I know it'll be hard given all the other (far more attractive) things to see! Click here to visit the fair's site and learn more.

Antiques For Everyone
The National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham

I will be attending as the 'guest expert' for the Spring event of this incredibly popular national institution, held four times a year. It is, without doubt, the UK's largest and most popular quality antiques and collectables fair, and I am delighted and honoured to have been asked. You'll find me taking part in the many promotional events planned, and also on the
Miller's stand. If I'm not there, speak to one of my lovely colleagues on the Miller's stand, and they'll be able to track me down! I hope to see you there. It's a fair that's certainly not worth missing - and over 35,000 people agree with me. Click here to find out more about the fair and put it in your diaries.

Sunday 22nd February 2009

13th Cambridge Glass Fair

No.13....unlucky for some - but only those who won't be attending! Bound to be even better than any of the last twelve, you'd be mad to miss this unique event if you love glass. If any time is a good time to invest in glass, it's now, as the stock market crashes around us. It's an awful lot nicer to look at than a share certificate or bond! Once again, I'll be attending for the day and will be found either perusing the beautiful glass on exhibition or for sale, or else you can ask for me at Kevin Graham's 'Pottery & Glass Forum' stand. If you're nice, please come and say hello. Find out more by
clicking here.

The Glass Collectors' Fair
Dulwich College, South London
10am-4.30pm

I will be taking a stand at this, the exciting inaugural fair at this beautiful and historic location. For those of you who have not been to Dulwich College before, you're in for a treat - the superb mid-century modern main hall is lit by floor to ceiling windows, making it the perfect space to display glass from the 18th to the 21st centuries. Not only will I be selling and signing all three books I have published, but I have also decided to clear some space by selling some of my glass collection, sad as it will be to see them go to new homes. These pieces have been collected on my travels over the past few years, as well as my extensive use of the highly addictive drug known as eBay.
Prices will range from £5 to over £500, with a strong focus on the late 20th century. I'll look forward to meeting you there!

Held twice a year, these fairs are events that cannot be missed. Click here to visit the fair's website to learn more. Come along and meet us!

Saturday 21st July 2007
BBC Antiques Roadshow
De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill-on-Sea, Sussex
9.30am-4pm

I will be working as an expert on this, one of the first Antiques Roadshows to focus on 'modern antiques' and collectables from the 20th century. The stuff we ordinary mortals have, or lived around and used - so leave the Chippendale sideboard behind! Dig out grannie's glass, funky fifties dinner service, or even her most fashionable frock that she wore as a young gal, and bring it along to chat to the experts about. Don't worry if you don't know exactly what you've got, we're there to help and let you know if it's trash or treasure. And judging my some of the delighted faces that are regularly seen on the show, it's quite often the latter! How will you know if you don't find out?!
Despite the thousands of people that turn up, everyone will get to see an expert - and a friendly one at that. Looking at people's treasures and hearing their stories is a fantastically enjoyable experience - and often one that makes you laugh as well as smile.
I'll be on the Miscellaneous/Collectables tables, and will look forward to meeting you there.

Plough Arts Centre, Great Torrington, Devon
Saturday 2nd June, 2007

I will be speaking about the career and designs of Michael Harris and his importance to, and impact on, British studio glass as part of Dartington Crystal's 40th anniversary celebrations. The talk will be illustrated with a slide show and you will be able to view and handle a range of early and rare designs produced by Michael Harris. This event is being hosted by The Glass Association, and tickets must be booked via them. For further information, please contact Charles Hajdamach at hajdamac@waverider.co.uk, or see the
Glass Association website.
